Summer Gardening Tips

Soil Preparation in Summer:

Given the scarcity of water in the summer months, you should prepare your soil with Aqua Wett Soil Wetter (available in Granules and Liquid). This will help your soil absorb water thereby helping to reduce run-off and evaporation.

Aerate lawns after rains using a pitch fork. A Gypsum product will help break up clay soils and discourage soil compaction.

Fertilizing in Summer:

As a general rule of thumb, fertilizing should be kept to a minimum in the summer months as it may burn the plant and/or the plant may not be able to absorb the fertilizer effectively. Any fertilizing should be minimal and saved to a time of more mild conditions with more plentiful water feed.
